Day 6: I have been a little overwhelmed with the whole painting a day process. I love it but it is a lot of work and I have had family over and somehow, I have not managed to get my 1 painting in. I do feel a little lost without painting everyday now. It is also frustrating not being able to paint as planned. I might have to consider doing watercolour when like that I have family around or very little time because it takes as long to clean the brushes and the work surface when I paint in oil as it does to paint. This is much easier with watercolours, so it might save me time and permit me to paint as intended. In this painting, I have stirred away from the abstracts. I have come back to one of my original loves: birds! Painting birds is so rewarding. They are beautiful animals and if reincarnation exists, I wish to reincarnated as a bird, more precisely an eagle, is possible. I chose this one to be very colourful like most parrot would be. I have never seen a pink parrot but I thought it would be beautiful. Here we have pink Galahs and when they fly into the sky the contrast between the blue and the pink is always striking.
I thought I would love painting on wood but it turns out that it is quite different to what I originally thought.
Thanks for following my adventure in learning to let go. See you tomorrow for another painting. If you are interested in buying my painting head over to eBay
